About Google Photos
With the Google Photos API, developers can now seamlessly integrate the powerful database of Google Photos within their applications. This is a RESTful API with a JSON payload and is structured to feature sharable albums and media collections, various media items including photos, videos, and metadata, and an option to share data with other users.
More than just a catalog of images, the Google Photos API makes uploading photos and videos to a user’s Google Photos library simple. Developers can use this API to easily integrate features including file transfers, extended storage options, and the ability to add context to all uploaded files. Sync options and organization features create a simplistic user interface, and extended sharing options are designed to increase user engagement.
